Gambit' star Channing Tatum has opened up about spending more time these days with his wife Jenna Dewan Tatum and their 2-year-old daughter, Everly.
In Vanity Fair's cover story for August 2015, the "Magic Mike XXL' actor shared his experience of welcoming the arrival of their baby girl in May 2013.
Tatum and his wife, who formerly appeared in "Witches of East End', welcomed their first child at a hospital in London. With such special moment, the 35-year-old actor knew that something huge and great has come to their lives.
"We like to think of ourselves as big, strong men, and we could handle whatever situation. And reality is [that women] are so much stronger than we could ever be," Tatum shared.
He also praised his wife for doing an impressive job of keeping up with their first-born.
"My wife, she's a warrior. She did it as natural as you can. [As a man], you're basically a cheerleader. "Come on, baby, you can do it.' I would've tapped out in the first," the "Foxcatcher' star added.
The couple first met while filming 2006's 'Step Up' and exchanged wedding vows in July 2009. Recently, the former co-stars came across the hit dance movie on TV and Tatum admitted that he had a hard time watching it.
The actor also opened up about wanting to make films that he would be highly proud of in the future, saying: ""¦Even if they don't make a dollar, I'll still be so proud to be a part of them that it won't matter."
Meanwhile, fans can look forward to Tatum's take on Gambit that will debut on his standalone movie, which is set for an official release on Oct. 7, 2016.
Gambit is one of the more recently developed characters associated with the X-Men, created by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee in 1990.
While the actor is promoting his upcoming movie "Magic Mike XXL', he has also been answering questions and addressing rumors about making his debut as Gambit onscreen.
When it comes to playing the fan-favorite character, he considers the card-wielding mutant's origin story to be unconventional and different from the rest. He also described the anti-hero as: "kind of a tortured soul and he's not a good guy. But he's not a bad guy, either. He walks his own path. And of course he plays cards and drinks and is a martial-arts badass!"
The film has also recently settled on Rupert Wyatt, who previously worked on "Rise of the Planet of the Apes', to take on directorial duties. Casting and plot details are yet to be announced.
