Tom Clancy's The Division

Development firm Ubisoft has announced that that closed apha test for Xbox One owners for the upcoming RPG shooter "Tom Clancy's The Division" will begin this week.

In addition, the company also noted that the game's closed beta, which was schedule to happen this month, has been delayed.

According to an update on the Ubisoft Blog, the alpha test will happen from December 9 to 12. However, not everyone will be able to participate in the event. Only those who are in the game's waiting list and those who pre-ordered "Tom Clancy's The Division" will get the chance to play the alpha version of the upcoming title.

Ubisoft noted that the testing event will be the first time gamers will get a glimpse of the game. Although they will not be able to see the complete edition of the game, the alpha test will show off certain game modes including the player-vs.-player matches.

Through the alpha test, the studio is hoping to gather important feedback from participants regarding the improvements that can be done on the game.

"This exclusive Xbox One alpha testing phase in December will be the first time the public gets to play a version of 'The Division' that includes more than the Dark Zone PvP enabled areas," Ubisoft stated. "This means the moment you and other players sign into the game, you'll be giving us valuable insight into how our infrastructure performs under pressure that we can't replicate internally or at a tradeshow."

The company also noted that participants will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement before entering the alpha phase to prevent the leakage of details regarding the game.

As for the game's beta test, it was originally set to happen this month. However, for unknown reasons, the company decided to postpone it. The studio noted that the schedule for the beta test, which will be available for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One gamers, has been moved to next year.

Ubisoft did not provide a specific window regarding the beta phase but it will probably happen in January or early February since the full version of the game is scheduled to come on March 8, 2016.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" is a third-person RPG shooter set in an open world environment. Its main plot focuses on a Black Friday pandemic that immediately led to the destabilization of the country and the collapse of the government.

In response to the crisis, members of the Strategic Homeland Division are activated as a last attempt to restore order in the country.
