Justin Bieber has started becoming more public about his faith. Last week he posted an image on Instagram "Be still and know that I am God," with the following caption "Remember there's a God that loves you and is for you. Be still in his presence he will give you true rest."

"Be still and know that I am God," is from Psalm 46:10, which continues as, "I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

His post from scripture received 1.4 million likes and 37,300 comments.

His latest album "Purpose" is also about God, and have many facets that tell about his walk with God, Bieber has said before.

In the past, there were times when he had left going to church altogether.

"Christians leave such a bad taste in people's mouths. I was like, 'I'm not gonna go to church.' I had these church friends and I was like, 'You guys are cool, I like you guys, but I'm not going to church... Like I said, you don't need to go to church to be a Christian. If you go to Taco Bell, that doesn't make you a taco,'" he has said at an interview with Complex.

"Then it was the same thing of, just because you went to a weird church before doesn't mean that this is weird. It doesn't make you a Christian just by going to church. I think that going to church is fellowship, it's relationship, it's what we're here on the earth to do, to have this connection that you feel there's no insecurities."

Last month, he shared pictures of himself praying with Kanye West on Instagram. And earlier this year, he even promoted the devotional Jesus Calling on social media.
