Korean American college students in the campus ministry "SOON Movement' (formerly known as Korea Campus Crusade for Christ) are preparing to go overseas for summer mission trips once again.

This year, some 280 students across the U.S. have committed to go on mission trips through SOON Movement and students from the L.A. region will be leaving to their respective mission fields on June 23. Students from New York, Boston, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Chicago have already started their ministries in various countries including Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, Mongolia, and others.

Students in the Los Angeles region attended the send-off service that took place at Dong Shin Presbyterian Church on June 12, a service that takes place each year with the students, families, and staff before they take off to their mission fields. SOON Movement's field national director Young Lee preached during the service on Matthew 9:35-38, and urged the students to follow Christ's example in keeping Scripture at the center, and sharing the gospel with prayer and passion.

Students will be trying something new this year in evangelism. "As the generation is changing, college students all over the world are using the media, tablets, and smartphones. We are preparing tools to share Christ's gospel in an even more effective way through those outlets," SOON Movement stated in a press release.
